Visitors and residents alike find a variety of fun and interesting activities in Hesperia. From shopping to four-wheeling off-road, Hesperia is central to some of the best recreation in Southern California and the Mojave Desert.
For folks who enjoy leisurely activities, there are several local museums including the Harrison Exhibit Center at 16367 Main St that is currently featuring a History of Hesperia exhibit. Other nearby museums include the Route 66 Museum in Victorville, the Daggett Museum in Daggett, and the Mojave River Valley Museum in Barstow.

You can find affordable fun for the whole family in and around Hesperia. The Hesperia Zoo offers an exotic animal encounter not to be matched elsewhere in the High Desert area. Housed on 10 acres in Hesperia, the zoo offers guided tours for families and groups.
Baseball fans can enjoy a Minor League baseball game with the High Desert Mavericks in Adelanto. The “Mavs” are a Class A Advanced Affiliate of the Seattle Mariners and advanced to the playoffs in 2009.
Families will also enjoy visiting destinations such as Calico Ghost Town near Barstow and the California Speedway in Fontana. The San Bernardino County Fairgrounds hosts a variety of events year-round in addition to the Fair in the spring.
Lovers of the outdoors enjoy plenty of desert exploration both on foot and in vehicles. The region is home to many trails for hiking and discovery as well as excellent legal Off-Road areas. Four wheel fanatics may want to check out Dumont Dunes, Johnson Valley, Stoddard Valley, or Rasor OHV areas.
